3. Quotations and Acceptance
All quotations provided by Fit My Doors Ltd are subject to these Terms and Conditions.
A quotation is considered accepted when the customer:
• clicks the acceptance button within the QuickBooks quotation system
• confirms acceptance in writing or electronically
• instructs Fit My Doors Ltd to proceed with the work.
Acceptance confirms that the customer has read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
4. Access and Attendance
The customer must ensure safe and reasonable access to the property on the agreed installation date(s).
If Fit My Doors Ltd is unable to gain access upon arrival, or if the work cannot begin because the site is not ready or the customer is not present, an aborted visit fee may be charged at a rate of £95 per fitter.
If work cannot proceed due to circumstances outside the control of Fit My Doors Ltd, additional labour charges may apply.
5. Site Preparation
The customer is responsible for ensuring the work area is clear and accessible prior to installation.
If Fit My Doors Ltd is required to prepare or clear the area before work can begin, additional labour charges may apply.
Fit My Doors Ltd accepts no liability for damage to items moved at the request of the customer.
6. Materials
All required materials must be present on site before the scheduled installation date unless otherwise agreed.
If work is delayed due to missing or incorrect materials supplied by the customer, additional labour charges may apply.
Any unused materials supplied by Fit My Doors Ltd remain the property of Fit My Doors Ltd unless otherwise agreed.
7. Customer Supplied Materials
Where materials are supplied by the customer, Fit My Doors Ltd accepts no responsibility for the suitability, quality, or compatibility of those materials.
Any delays, adjustments, or additional labour required due to incorrect, damaged, or unsuitable materials supplied by the customer may result in additional charges.
8. Unforeseen Work
Quotations are prepared based on visible conditions at the time of inspection or information provided by the customer.
If hidden issues are discovered during installation, including structural problems, incorrect measurements, or unsuitable existing fittings, additional work may be required.
Where reasonably possible, the customer will be informed and any additional work will be quoted and approved before proceeding.
9. Property Conditions
Many properties contain structural irregularities including uneven walls, floors, or frames.
Fit My Doors Ltd will install products to the best practical standard within the limitations of the existing structure.
Minor variations caused by existing property conditions do not constitute installation defects.
10. Delays Outside Our Control
If a project is delayed, extended, or rescheduled due to circumstances outside the control of Fit My Doors Ltd, including lack of access, unprepared site conditions, or customer delays, additional labour charges may be applied at a rate of up to £320 per fitter per day.
11. Deposits and Payments
For quotations exceeding £1,000, an interim payment of £250 may be required before work begins.
Full payment is due immediately upon completion of the works unless otherwise agreed.
Invoices not paid within 48 hours may incur a late payment fee of 10 percent of the total invoice value.
Fit My Doors Ltd reserves the right to charge statutory interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.
12. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
Once installation work has been completed and the customer has taken possession or use of the installed products, payment is considered due in full.
Customers agree not to initiate payment chargebacks or payment disputes without first contacting Fit My Doors Ltd to allow a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.
Where a chargeback or payment dispute is initiated without reasonable cause after services have been provided, Fit My Doors Ltd reserves the right to pursue recovery of the outstanding balance, associated fees, and reasonable costs incurred in recovering the payment.
13. Cancellation
Customers have a statutory 14 day cooling off period under consumer protection regulations unless they request that work begins within this period.
If the customer cancels work after accepting the quotation and reserving installation dates, Fit My Doors Ltd may charge for labour time already allocated, materials purchased, and administrative costs.
14. Additional Works
Any work not included in the original quotation will be quoted separately.
Additional work will only be carried out once approved by the customer.
15. Waste Disposal
Any waste generated during installation will remain on site for disposal by the customer unless otherwise agreed in writing.
16. Ownership of Equipment
Any equipment, skips, tools, or materials delivered to site remain the property of Fit My Doors Ltd unless otherwise agreed.
